MARMARİS
Marmaris Center is the most appropriate departure point for
daily sight seeing and ancient city tours. For daily tours,
private cars, minibuses and buses can be used. Travel Agencies
in the town center can arrange budgetable tours for groups. The
combined visits to ancient places and sceniec beauties is the
right way for efficient use of time.
ARMUTALAN
Armutalan, which is
surrounded by forest hills faces the sea from the east and is a
neighbour of Marmaris. With its geographical position and
extraordinary scenery, Armutalan showed a very fast development
in a short time. The number of touristic hotels and tourism
facilities are growing rapidly. The beauty of its water and air,
quiet nature and its closeness to the town center are the most
important characteristics. People who want to spend all winter
and summer, and retired ones prefer Armutalan for those reasons.
Its population is close to 14 thousand.
BELDİBİ
It is vicinity of Marmari and
Armutalan. Geographically, it is an ancient residential area in
the plains of Karadere Valley from Cetibeli in the west. Ancient
Fiskos City is in its near vicinity, on the Asar Hill. As in all
Marmaris area, Beldibi nature, too, is surrounded by forest
hills. The village, has become a residential area with a rapid
growth, which, up until 1995 vegetable and fruit trade were the
only economical activity. The distance is 1 kilometer to the
center. Its population is approximately 6 thousand.
İÇMELER
It is 8 kilometers to Marmaris.
Icmeler is a modern vacation area with a major development in
the last years. Its coast is considerably shallow and sand is
very thin and delicate. All kind of sea sports can be found
here. There are also scuba lessons for those who are interested.
Hotels, shopping centers and entertainment facilites are modern
and of high quality to cater every need of the tourists. It is a
distinguished pleausre to arrive Icmeler by boats which depart
frequently from the city center. Local population is
approximately 10 thousand.
TURUNÇ
Turunc is 21 kilometers
from land and 5 miles from sea to Marmaris. Its population is
approxiamtely 3.5 thousand. By land, the view of Marmaris Bay is
extraordinary from the curves of hills from Icmeler. Again, the
curvy road down to Turunc is another breathtaking scenery.
Arriving Turunc from the sea, you can notice the beauty of the
sea and the coast, another magnificent scenery.
Turunc is the first village to acquire the Blue Flag in the
neighbourhood. Hotels and pensions are available for evey
boarding needs of the tourists. The local people, with strong
social activities and services are always very helpful for every
subject. Lots of foreigners choose Turunc to settle for its
peace and quiet. The ancient village of Amos is in the near
vicinity of Turunc.
